The foundation of health is diet and lifestyle. Proper nutrition from what you eat and drink nourishes your body and brain. Food also signals to your body and brain what is going on in your environment. The lifestyle you choose to live also impacts your health. If your goal is to live long and healthy, then optimize your diet and lifestyle first.
Life can be stressful and this can affect your food choices. Having a sedentary lifestyle can also affect not only your food choices but your mood and metabolism.
There is hope. The good news is that your body responds well to diet and lifestyle changes.

It is important to be sensitive to your culture and ethnicity and to personalize your diet so that you don’t lose a part of who you are or ignore your genetics.
You can reach longevity and be healthy by optimizing your diet and lifestyle.
You are not destined to have diabetes, hypertension or other chronic diseases that your family or relatives may have.
If you are already diagnosed with a disease, then diet & lifestyle is just as important for prevention as well as reversing it.
Start with your diet first. Look at the quality and quantity of what you are eating. I help you assess how much of each macronutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, water) you need and assess whether you are meeting your micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) needs. Tracking your diet and testing your digestion and gut health are helpful and recommended. Taking a closer look at your digestion starting from the top down – from the time you think of food, chewing, and digesting food, all the way down to eliminating it – this is what it takes to assess digestion.
You not only have to consider what you are eating but also HOW you eat. How you eat affects digestion. You can eat the perfect meal but if you’re eating in a rush, not chewing, and under stress, then you are not digesting well.
Then when it comes to gut health, I talk about your symptoms and poop. Functional stool testing can give you a detailed idea of what is going on in your gut. I can order this and interpret the results so you have a plan for your next steps.
